FFXI Adventurer Survey 2024

12/4/2024

I know it's not food bank related, but I don't have anything else to talk about until Wednesday potentially. The survey was conducted from November 11 to November 30, 2024. They got 13,878 responses!!! Half from current players, but still. That's impressive! The largest age group of Japanese respondents was 40 to 50, and overseas was 30 to 40. This number isn't honestly surprising because a lot of people were teens or in their 20's when 11 had it's heyday. I learned that us overseas players are pretty dedicated with the fact that we play 4 hours or more compared to Japan's 2 to 3 hours.

"On a general note, Japanese players mostly wanted to see adjustments to existing content, including job balance revisions. Meanwhile, overseas players tended to request new ways to play the game, such as new character development features and additional battle content. One common thread between both groups was the desire to see new scenarios and quests added to the game.". It would be so fun to have more scenarios and quests! I would love a new expansion, too. Maybe a crossover with ff14 characters in ps2 quality.

I do have to agree with the comments that playing solo makes content hard to finish sometimes. My problem isn't endgame content, but missions. I made the mistake of starting "Written in the Stars," and now I'm stuck like Chuck. I was really shocked that they acknowledged that some of the players want a level 75 classic server and graphic updates. A tweet I saw about it on Twitter helped me realize the survey results were out. I mentioned this to my ff11 veteran friend. He wants one, too, along with lower combined ff11 and ff14 subscription fees. I just want an offline version of ff11 personally so I don't have to battle with my sometimes annoying internet. I'm not holding my breath about the graphic updates because Square only cares about 11 a bit. It's also really funny to see the characters clip through things.

"Once again, we would like to offer you our heartfelt gratitude for your kind cooperation with this survey. We hope that you continue to enjoy the world of FFXI. ". I'll always be there until the servers shut down.

Happy new years!

12/31/2024 and 1/1/2025

Ever since my reunion with ffxi, I have been playing nonstop. I will get back to my normal playing soon, though. I made a list of things I have done or seen around Vanadiel. It's going to be out of order, lol.

-In my quest to unlock dancer, I accidentally started wings of the goddness. These were my messages with my ffxi veteran friend: Nvm???? I just went into the caevous maw??? What is happening lol. FLOWERS ON THE BATTLEFIELD. Goose yeah. WHY AM I IN THE PAST???. My friend replied with "Lol, welcome to Wings of the Goddess expansion.". I guess. Later, I said, "I guess WOTG Fish soon." and he replied, "Yup, Fishy gonna ruin the past and future of Vana'diel."

-The game tells you if people look at your profile.

-I learned you can fall through 11 maps. My veteran 11 player friend said the game is coded well, but sometimes things happen. It happened on console very rarely, and you have to call a game master, and they teleport you out.

-I finally got the ability to have a mount. I relearned there are npc markers on the map on this quest. I already had two other mounts at my mog house from login point exchange, so my main transportation is my crawler mount.

-I also learned that I could look at other maps from the menu. I was dumb and thought you could only look at the map of the area you were in.

-I was watching an internet mysteries video and playing 11. I thought I kept hearing the playonline music. It turns out Space was one of the background music in the video.

-I saw a summoner rainbow, which means when someone unlocked the summoner job. I'm so jealous! I need indigo, and then I can finally unlock the job, too.

-I didn't know you leveled up your sub by playing it. So I got my whm sub to 30 and learned that I can level down! Also, the people who find the mog tablets are the absolute best. Thank you so much! I know now what chat colors mean too.

-I got to a new desert area in the game. I thought it was an Aht Urhgan area, but it's Zilart. The Cactuar was super cute and deadly. I was busy registering a survival guide, and then a monster tried to make meat out of my character. I forced the game to let me ride a chocobo. I'm too weak to adventure any further.

-I thought the fortuitous leviathan was a nm until I looked it up lol.

-I was doing a quest, and without realizing, I was mining the wrong thing for the past hour.

-3 adventurers were running in front of my mount, and my brain made me swerve off to the side even though they would just go through me, lol

-My internet and 11 don't get along sometimes. The lag gets really bad usually. I was in the garlaige citadel near a player with 5 trusts. I thought my chat and laptop would break.

-I spent some of Christmas getting help from my ffxi veteran friend. I kept dying and forgetting he could resurrect my character. I kept having to run from jeuno. The wiki didn't make totally it clear where these weighted stones were. At least, level 50 is unlocked.

-I have noticed that there aren't a lot of areas to explore in wotg. My friend joked that they don't want you to explore too much of the past, lol.

Stuck with the worst food bank job ever(I hate doing produce)

12/18/2024

In my daily ffxi playing, I got to level 50, and I can now get my chocobo license even though I am a little late. Some street sweepers passed by the house while I was waiting for the connect van. As I and the other two in the van were leaving, the driver told us see you guys later. That's really sweet to do.

I did get the email one of the usps operation santa kids, aka Kirby package, was delivered yesterday. My ff11 veteran pal explained what the heck AF armor and level break were after telling me that it was time to start them.

My brain forgot how mp3 worked for a second during my walk. I picked up my usual gas station peppermint latte. The lady behind me curtly questioned me if I was using the self checkout. I went to see if it worked, but I was right. I was going to be a bit late in general, but especially with my chat with the receptionist and volunteer receptionist. It didn't matter in hindsight.

All they had for me to do is one of my mortal enemies, aka produce. I was not a happy camper at all. I begged head honcho 3 to give me something else to do. It turns out he didn't have time to send me an email about no dry good building this week. I told him that I would just leave instead. I ended up feeling bad, so I stayed. I made the excuse that I could only do some many before I had to leave. I was trained on the art of making produce boxes by one of the Mennonites boys. It was a bunch of bananas, a pomegranate, a handful of potatoes, a handful of apples, two grapefruit, one bellpepper, 4 onions, and mushrooms, or bag of colorful baby carrots. I went to hunt for some labels for the boxes at one point. Either head honcho 3 or I found it.

All round around was food or gift giving. The dry goods lady gave me some peppermint chocolate fudge. I had to secure it in my black jacket pocket. The produce lady who doesn't really like me gave us some scones. We were munching on them when one of the staff members came with a person who had a professional jvc video camera. He was trying to get b roll footage for something. You could tell the staff member was pissed about the scones. Head honcho 3 thought my switch up from trying to go home to being on camera was funny.

Todd had to do this job before me. Eventually, the mennonite boy had to head out for lunch, so I was soloing for a bit. I had a bit of a glove issue since I don't like tight ones. One of the volunteers joked that I had a green thumb because of the gloves. Head honcho 2 was doing the usual going out in about. So I showed him the giant parade shopping cart when I got the chance. I joked that instead of spending money on the new building that they should buy a shopping cart instead. They apparently used to take a food bank semi truck for parades.

Liam bought over a group of volunteers for head honcho 3. I later learned that 3 wanted to make it 2's job, but I stepped up to the plate. I wasn't even thinking about it. I was the only one who knew what to do, plus there were too many volunteers for the task. I explained what to do, answered questions, checked on them, and went to harass 3 if I couldn't answer it. I suck at the job, but I tried. I lazed or did tiny things after that. Eventually, 3 ran out of things for them to do so, they left after. Maybe they helped clean. It's my fault for writing this months later.

Celeste didn't read the email and went in the mold decontaminated fridge. She came back wondering why it was empty. Don't worry, she didn't get in trouble at all.

I chatted with head honcho 3 while the group was doing their thing at one point. I joked that I get to go on vacation. He replied, asking where I am going on vacation to now. I answered that I don't have to come and get potentially hit by the cars for the next two weeks, so it is a vacation for me.

One of the cilents gave a Christmas card addressed to everyone. It was really sweet of them. I joking sulked that I at least got a gift. He replied that he doesn't get any either. I mentioned that I just don't feel close to anyone since I only come here on wednesdays. That's why I didn't bring gifts.

One of the clients bought chestnuts for dry goods lady. She unfortunately was long gone. Head honcho 2 asked if I wanted them after I came to ask what to do with them. Of course, I told him no way.

I got my usual ride from Celeste. The first bus was the really nice lady driver. The second bus was the really positive bus driver.
