12/8/24:I had to go back for it, and I am so happy that I did. I saw a Square Millennium chrono trigger, Code veronica x for gamecube for 169, and a ps1 Lunar: Silver Star Story this time. I didn't want to look at more of the rare stuff after seeing those prices.
The cashier checked the disc, and I said that I knew it didn't work. He replied that someone probably got it working again. I got to explain the story that I saw about the first discord server who tried to. They made a bit of progress until the discord server owner got super paranoid and deleted it. He snickered about that and returned with the comment that Square definitely doesn't care. I continued that another person made another server, and barely any activity has really happened(I'm still glad that people have tried to make an effort to preserve it regardless. I am rooting for them.). I later mentioned how few games stores will stock ffxi. The employee answered that they try for collecting and preservation purposes. He told me as I was leaving that it came with a warranty even though it's doesn't matter, and joked that it might as well be a cardboard disc in the case.
12/6/24:Another score at a local Hollow Bastion game store that I missed checking out during black friday shopping. The game stores were all next to each other. I prefer this one the best even though their prices were yuck and I like the chain store employees better. I wasn't planning to buy anything, I just wanted to look for ps2 and dreamcast curiosity reasons. They had the xbox360 version of ff11 with junk on the case and disc, a rough looking chains of promathia for 12, a persona 3 portable for 100, a dreamcast web browser for 3, a phantasy star online for 40, and a cheap Garnet statue. They had some Japanese copies of games as well.
11/29/24:A lucky find at a Hollow Bastion's game chain store. I was trying to go to the local game store, but I decided to check out chain first. If I ever remember how much I spend on it, I'll let you know. It was around 20-35. It was all wrapped in plastic so I couldn't test it, but they told me that I could exchange it at any store. Future Fish says it works fine.
